    To be honest thats way too expensive for and 8 inch Newt, even a good one! They are literally shooting for the Moon to try and sell this one. You can get a 12 inch carbon truss RC for that price, well less than that actually. Also I havent heard of Artesky either.

    The price does seem a bit excessive. Once converted to my currency I would need to take a second bond on my home!

    Just remember thats an Astrograph which always seem to be double the price of normal newts, well is RSA anyway , not sure why, but this one around R80k it must have a gold mirror

    You can get a Zambuto mirror for 1400.That seems pretty steep and it does not come with a mount?!? Perhaps they alumnized the mirror with platinum.

    It looks very well made, both mechanically and optically and 2.5-4x the light gathering of a much smaller similarly priced premium refractor. It's not comparable to a 12" RC. Completely different animal. This is a wide field short focal length fast astrograph. You also need a really serious mount to hold and capture with an RC12. This can sit on a much smaller portable mount.
