The Zhumells come with rollers, not teflon!

Welllll, I had a Zhumell Z 10, it was black. I now have An Apertura AD 12, it too is black. The AD 12 has an available option package Zhumell does not. As the only difference is the name, then decide if you want an option package or not. I think the Apertura was four dollars less for the basic scope. These two as well as a few more are GSO's with different paint jobs and names. And both offered free shipping. Flip a coin, they're both great scopes. Clear skies, Bob

I have an Apertura AD8 and I will say the folks at Opticsmart were great to work with and very helpful with some questions I had. I have read that Hayneedle (telescopes.com) can be iffy with shipping times, packaging, etc. For the same scope, except the name on the side, I would go with Apertura every time.

I did get the tweaker's dream package and the flocking is fantastic. The secondary colllimation knobs are the second best item in the package. I can't speak to the benefits of the washers, as I haven't had a scope without them. The second accessory tray is nice, but not a necessity and I don't really use the guide knob. It is easier for me to grab the bottom edge of the tube.

Whichever way you go you'll have a very enjoyable scope.

    DARN TERMITES!

Have to use my telescope funds to get rid of them and to repair the damage.

It'll be a while before I get one.

You've probably purchased your scope, but I would go with the AD12 because Apertura gives some pretty good service. You can email Dave Giles and he responds and is ready, willing, and able to help.

    No, not yet.

Still saving my funds for the AD12. Soon, I hope!
