Eyes on the Solar System. Follow the simulation of the Curiosity landing in real-time as the landing itself occurs, and explore the solar system a little while you wait:

Thanks. This is cool. Now let's find out more about perchlorate deposits and the presence of water on the red planet and Schiaperelli's Canals (haha)

Sweet. Thanks for the link.
I see so many things going wrong with that landing. So much money and work gone into this, and it looks so, I dunno, fragile I guess. But I suppose they wouldn't have launched it if they weren't reasonably confident in the whole landing system/procedure... I hope.
Success!
The MSL EDL team really did their homework and pulled off an absolutely fantastic landing. The landing itself was only a few seconds off from Eyes on the Solar System EDL simulation, which I had running as I watched the live stream. When control got out the peanuts, I got some, too, and ate a mouthful. I was on the edge of my seat until confirmation, and then I relaxed and watched the EDL team party in control--for nearly ten straight minutes. The excitement was contagious.
