Default Used and Orion 8" f/4 Astrograph, anyone?

I'm looking to the Orion 8" f/4 (balck) AP OTA but I'll be darned if I can't find one user review anywhere on the net. Including Orion's site.

The reason I'm looking at this scope is the size and weight over other similar aperature and focal ratio scopes.

Has anyone here used this tube? How was it for contrast, spikes, solid build, focuser, etc.

Is it a badged Synta, GSO, what are the comparable in the manufacturers and other brands product other lines?

Anything that helps me out, I'm desperate. I want to buy soon but I'm slow to take a risk on an unknown.

    HELP!!!!

Take a look at Low Profile or Stock Focuser? It turns into my "Which telescope do I buy?" thread. The choices are the Orion 10" reflector (with Atlas EQ-G) or the Astro-Tech 8" F4.0 Imaging Newtonian.

The Orion 8in. f/4.0 Newtonian Astrograph Reflector is ALMOST identical to the Astro-Tech. The differences are outlined in the thread I show, above.

There are a few reviews on the CN forums for the AT version of this scope. The idea of this scope seems wonderful, but I wonder how bad the Coma is for visual? I mean, if one has to drop in a few more hundred bucks for a coma corrector, it no longer seems like a good deal.

Astronomy magazine has a 2 page review on this model in the new issue along with a couple of images taken with the scope. The reviewer seemed to be pretty fond of the telescope.
