You can certainly put that tube on another mount. Orion sells mounts and rings to fit all its telescopes and mounts. Your at-8 tube is probably the same diameter as all the other 8 inch telescopes Orion sells, so just get a mount and set of rings.

Note that a Dobsonian mount is altaz, not equatorial. A motorized equatorial mount will definitely cost more than your whole telescope. That is why Dobsonians are popular. All the money is in the telescope and not the mount.

Yes you can--- a german equatorial with "rings" to attach the tube.
