    Default Touching Song

Just wanted to pass this along.

As we dined at the Cracker Barrel last night, nearby was a long row of tables where sat 12 members of Disabled American Veterans, men and women. Apparently it was an important gathering since they each wore name tags. After we had ordered there suddenly arose a verse of God Bless America, loudly sung by the vets. Most everyone in the restaurant joined in, including us. I was so touched that after we had checked out I went back in and walked over to their table and thanked them for that.

It is wonderful to see such support. And what a surprise! I proudly salute all who have sacrificed so much and served so honorably. Thank you.

Great story Russ. Thanks for sharing.

I always enjoy hear the elementary kids at my little one's school sing either My Country, God Bless America, or The National Anthem on Thursdays each week during assembly before school starts. Of course, the parents sing along too; but the kids sound better than us!

(Odd but true fact: on one day of the week, the kids say a pledge of allegiance to Texas after they say the regular pledge of allegiance. We never had a pledge of allegiance to Michigan when I grew up--but then, Michigan was never its own country either).

Hi jack .. That sounds truley patriotic ...They sound proud to be american ... I remember a couple of years ago at a nascar race in texas "lee greenwood" sang "proud to be an american" anyway , a bunch of red necks started kicking some guys butt for not standing up to support what they thought was the national anthem . True story ... If they want to get osama binladen all they have to do is tell dale earnhardt fans binladen killed dale sr. ...They will get him ...

As Memorial Day approaches we are reminded of who to thank. All gave some--some gave all.
