Why Did Terry Farrell leave Star Trek Deep Space 9?

Terry left so that she could star in a role on "Becker", where she played an owner of a diner that she ran and Dr. Becker (Ted Danson) would come in smoke there because that is where he kept his cigarettes. Jadzia Dax was killed off but the Dax entity inside her (was transplanted) lived on in a character played by Nicole deBore.
