Dang it! Not cool, Bruce! Not good at all.

I'd be raising heck with the postal service. They should not have put it there in the first place.

My first day I'm able to go to the Post Office will be Friday. I will let them know what happened and find out my options. I know it was insured by ScopeStuff but I think the Post Office owes me, am I right? Not sure how that works. It's probably going to be a really slow process filing a claim with them.

I would try to visit directly with the postmaster.

I've worked quite a bit with the postal service from a production mail standpoint (I mail about 70,000 pieces daily) so I have a good relationship with my local postmaster (he likes the revenue I give him by putting his zipcode on my indicia) as well as my state BMEU reps. I definitely know who I'd be yanking a chain on.

Good luck! I hope this gets resolved swiftly and to your satisfaction.

Update: I received another USPS text telling me my package was returned to the Post Office and had a delivery exception, addressee unknown on May 8th. (Somebody was honest!) By the time I got to the Post Office on May 10th, it had already shipped back to ScopeStuff.

I then called and talked to Jim at ScopeStuff, (nice guy by the way), and he told me I could order the dovetail again and he would send me a refund as soon as he received the old one. So that's what I did. He shipped it about an hour after I ordered it! I should get it Monday.

Talking with the Postmaster, I found out the address my package was delivered to WAS the address on the package. Apparently after over a year of ordering with PayPal and receiving packages at my current address, somehow there was a glitch and my package was mailed to my old address just out of the blue! I checked with PayPal and sure enough, two of my old addresses were still in my addresses. Even though my preferred address was my current one.

I quickly deleted all other addresses! Live and Learn!

    I blame myself!

I used to have a friend who works for the post office, so I can understand how these mix ups happen. From your recent experience with the post office, you can understand why he and I aren't friends anymore.
