    Default The Ultimate Nanny State

    Only in California,

I just recommended a pair of binoculars to a new Forum member asking about binoculars. On the website that is selling the binoculars I assume they're required to post this warning, you're not going to believe this.

Hazard Symbol WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including Di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP), which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov
Oh, the state of being in this state is too difficult to state.

    Shaking my head,
    JT

PS, I was born and raised there.

I bought this Bushnell Kellner in the UK.

It had the same warning on the box it came in. I contacted the shop I bought it from as I was curious, although not particularly concerned. They told me it was fine and almost everything imported from California has this written on the packaging. I'm guessing it's quite safe to use as long as you don't eat too many of them lol.

Hi Gabby. It may be that if there is a problem the item glows in the dark so no warning is necessary ? :-)

Warning: Reading too many warning labels is known to the State of California to cause eye strain, undo stress, and overwhelming incredulity. The State of California strongly urges its citizens to move downwind of Chernobyl for immediate relief.
