Hi GCoyote. My favorite astronomy music is from the Star Hustler, known for it's naked-eye astronomy tips series show with Jack Horkheimer: Star Hustler. The show started in 1976 and was broadcast nationally until 1985 on the PBS TV stations on Sunday nights, and later changed the name to Star Gazer. The theme music for the Star Hustler program was from Isao Tomita’s Snowflakes Are Dancing album, and the song was Debussy’s Arabesque No. 1. You can purchase a modern CD version from Amazon here, at:

I hope this helps your list GCoyote, and the best of regards.
- Marshall

While it may take a hardened stomach for some, But just about all of Hawkwind's music is scifi and/or astronomy related. They must have over 50 albums and can not think of any song that is not scifi or space related.
They have been my favourite band since the 1970s![]()

Very nice selections, friends.
Though I do typically feel more like Phill's selection while I'm fumbling with the scope, Jim's selection pairs well with life in general, no matter the activity. It is the soundtrack for Life, the Universe, and Everything. That album is 43 minutes long, just enough to encompass "42". Coincidence? I think not...
Otherwise, being the happy little Gen-X'er that I am, I enjoy my 90's grunge while at the scope. It goes well with galaxy hunting.![]()
