Default The World Cup - who is your team?

I enjoy watching football when played on a world stage. This year's tourney is odd, no Netherlands, no Italy.

    a. Picks from the heart..

    This year I like:

    Iceland (Reasons: - Why not?
    - The Viking chant
    - Underdog coolness)

Germany (Reason: One of my perennial favourites going back 30 years).

England (Reason: It would be nice to see them get somewhere! The drought has been significant).

Argentina (Reason: Lionel Messi, see England)

    Columbia (Reason: No reason)

    b. Slightly-More-Rational picks...

Spain, France, Brazil and a Russian darkhorse.

I think Germany. And i think my countrys team(Sweden) won´t go so long in this champoinship because i think they were very very lucky when they beat italy in the playoff.

Luck can be a significant variable. Beating Italy is never easy.

Yeah maybe but when you are in a group with Germany and Mexico the odds of going forward is in my opinion very slim. But hey i can be wrong to

I kind of like Uruguay and England too. Its a shame that Cavani copped an injury. The guy can play.

Kane is unflappable. A starkly different personality among the sundry superstars.
