    Again, as I ramble.
May I say this image is quite interesting.
There is a distinct parallel here, to me, in some spider web structures I have studied, but here is an image of the ends of the tubules in the hydraulic system of an extinct tree...cross section. Fascinating. Pattern seeing is a habit of mine.
    Thank you Mr. Gardavsky.

Certainly not! I like to have the safety of a metal box around me when I travel.

I hope I made no offense with my question. None was intended.
When I was a small boy my brother had a motorcycle. It was parked one day under a giant Elm tree in the center of our driveway, and as I was home alone at the time I decided I should try it. I could not actually reach the footrest. At any rate I started the engine and somehow engaged the transmission at the same time that I twisted the grip on the handlebars. The machine moved forward and the kickstand flipped up and all in a fraction of a second, in fear. I gripped the handlebar tighter and without realizing anything twisted the grip and the machine roared up and threw my like a horse. It churned and twisted ten feet in front of me and then sputtered out. I was scratched and my behind was bruised, but my greatest fear was what my brother would do to me when he got home. I am an old man now and I have not been on a motorcycle since.
Your image caused this story to flood through my mind.

Hi Jim. A very nice beach front lightning photo from you. I got a nice one in my old film SLR back in 1980 at Panama City Beach, FL. Thanks for sharing this nice capture with us Jim. and the best of regards.

Hi all. Here is an Allamanda plant which is next to my wife's Desert Rose in the front yard, and has been blossoming the last few days.

    Allamanda.jpg

    Allamanda2.jpg

Allamanda is a genus of flowering plants in the dogbane family, Apocynaceae. It is also called the “golden trumpet.” These would have been easier shots, but my cat Blackie kept sticking his head in front of the camera lens. I hope that you all enjoy this, and keep those great and enjoyable photographs coming in on here.

Here is a study in canine diversity: an image of four dogs who were socializing with my friend's daughter. This was taken about 3 years ago.

At the cottage site, one of the residents owns a "bear dog" - named Duncan - the black husky in this pic. Our two dogs are also in the pic - "Amy" is the little dog in the girls' lap, and "Snowy" is the terrier to the right. The name of the dog on the left is unknown to me.

Contrasting phenotypes of the same species, selected for function (Duncan), or cute factor (the two lap dogs) or ?? (terrier).

    The personalities are also contrasting.

Duncan - clearly alpha, unflappable, aloof. Completely calm.
Amy - needy love-sponge. Loud (ahem).
Snowy - won't suffer fools gladly. Will eat a treat, even if he's stuffed.
Fourth dog - a duplicate of Amy.
