    Sheesh! Is nothing sacred anymore?

I buy D'Addario for my 5-string banjo, but I get them from a local shop, and will continue to do so, it seems. Thanks for the heads up, not_Fritz!

I have no local shop, really. The nearest shop is 1.5 hours away. But when I buy online it's from a shop with a definite locality that offers mail delivery, not Amazon. I get twitchy about strings........

I buy my strings at the Starving Musician in Berkeley - I've got a 12-string Ovation and a six string Yamaha for classical.

Yikes! Haven't even thought of trying amazon for strings, and now will approach with caution. Need to find a local store that hasn't gone out of business yet.

Depending on your instrument.... since I have no local store I found a store that is local someplace else that is willing to send me strings in the mail.
