    Thanks for the link Slabs. I've been following the progress of Bezos' company, Blue Origin, for quite awhile.

    Competition will make for a better product at a lower cost. That includes rockets and rocket engines too. It is also nice not to be locked into one supplier.
    Both Boeing and SpaceX where awarded basically identical NASA contracts for manned missions (Commercial Crew Transportation Capability). SpaceX is 40% cheaper.
    -- The Boeing Company, Houston, $4.2 billion
    -- Space Exploration Technologies Corp., Hawthorne, California, $2.6 billion
    Sierra Nevada who came in at $3.3 billion was not selected based on technical merits.
    Blue Origin, United Launch Alliance and a few others where eliminated in earlier phases of the competition.

    In the future Sierra Nevada, SpaceX and Orbital ATK all will be carrying supplies to and from the ISS.
