Depends on what time you go to sleep... I can't normally realistically get out until later anyway so makes no real difference if anything gives me more time and possibility of setting up while not quite so dark. Just stay out until later!

I'm right there with you on this one. Makes getting extended evening sessions a PITA and it just gets worse through July. I am counting down the days until the dog days of August when we start to get a break again. A silly notion, DST - cutting a foot off one end of the blanket and sewing it onto the other end doesn't make the blanket longer. I was in school in Michigan in the 1970's when the US experimented with year round DST - Sunrise in January wasn't until after 9:00AM, which made it really hard to get out of bed for my 8:00 Social Studies class.

    I agree, I hate DST.

I have to admit when I saw the title of the thread, I thought the three little letters were going to be IRS.

Actually farmers hate it (at least all those I know) since their days start around 4AM anyway, so they lose their morning light; and it messes with their natural sleep cycles too.

Those who like DST and push for it are by and large business people who think that by adding an hour of sunlight to the end of the day, they can make more money by keeping their business open longer; they don't realize they have to leave the lights on an hour longer at the other end of the day though...

It's a pain for people in IT too. While most systems are automated, they can screw up...have had it happen so you need to monitor things at time change. And if you have older systems you sometimes have to manually do time updates.

And of course from an astronomy perspective, you have to go out late to get any sort of darkness in the summer.

The annoying part for myself is that it is only in north america that uses the different start and stop times. Europe is still on the old time change schedule. I am sure it is annoying for businesses, I know it is for me.
