Hi Benjamin. You should have put this in the off topic "New Fun Jokes" thread instead. This spoofs the "Flying Nun", "Star Wars", and "Encounters of the Third Kind" all at the same time. Even after I pulled off the forum last night, I later thought about the trombone part, and started laughing again. In fact, I am laughing again as I type this. This is absolutely hilarious. I look at our PBS channel, and get a lot of the BBC programming there, but I never saw this program. Thanks for sharing this humorous video with us Benjamin, and best of regards.

Hi Benjamin. As a trombone player, I thought that you would greatly appreciate this. Here in the US, we had Tommy Dorsey in the 1940's and early 1950's, and you can read more about him here at:

Tommy Dorsey - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the 1960's, we had Kai Winding, and you can read more about him here at:

Kai Winding - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the 1970's through the 1990's and early 2000's we had James Pankow from the jazz/rock band "Chicago", and I saw him on our BET Jazz cable channel on an Hawaiian Jazz festival show a few years ago. You can read more about him here at:

James Pankow - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

But, throughout all of this, the very BEST jazz trombone player of all time is Chris Barber, from the UK. He was featured in an American modern music film in the late 1960's, and I also saw him on a BET Jazz cable channel special show about 8 years ago. He was really outdoing our own DixieLand style music here from the US on that show.

So, with you being a trombone player, I offer this gesture to you, and also as a tribute to Chris, in this video entitled "Hugh Laurie meets Jazz Trombonist Chris Barber at Abbey Road".

Thanks Benjamin, and I hope that you enjoy this video, and best wishes for much happiness with your trombone music.
