    Default Worst customer service ever!

So my AC adapter to charge my 12v battery died. I have been using another household adapter I happened to have. It was not powerful enough so my scope was only lasting a few hours before dying.

I found the replacement for the unit I have. It showed in stock at Canadian Tire's website. I had the info on my iphone so if I couldn't find it I could give them the part number and they could bring it to me.

After 20mins of looking I couldn't find it. It shows in stock so I'm guessing it was in the back.

I showed the part number to 5 different people I got 3 or 4 different answers as to where it was, and none would go find it for me. One called the back and they told me to go to an aisle where I had already looked. Frustrated I left my other purchases and went to another location. More of the same. I go to the customer service desk show them the number again and they again tell me it's in stock and in aisle 9. I say it's not there and they once again refuse to help. I want to buy something I tell them what it is. they tell me they have it but won't find it for me. WTF. Finally I go to the source and grab a 12v 500mah adapter in 2 seconds but don't know which plug I need. I guessed and it seems to work so hopefully I will have a full charge tonight, but I am still extremely frustrated with this very very poor customer service. I wish I could buy some cobras and release them in the store.

That sounds like the same customer service every time I go to the Home Depot. One time I waited for an hour for help on a lock, and finally I gave up went to Lowes and was in and out in 10 mins

I have that same experience a lot here in Canada. It's almost like you have to ask someone's permission to spend your money in their store. In fact, at some places like KBC Tools, you DO have to ask permission. Which is why I don't spend my money there any more.
Efston Science: the telescope guy is rude and doesn't have time to talk to customers, in the store or on the phone. They do the "bait and switch" where they have items advertised for sale on their website, but when you finally get someone to answer your questions, they don't have it and can't tell you when they will have it. You can order it...pay up front...but they can't tell you when it will arrive. BUT...they have something "just as good" right here in stock...sure, it costs more and doesn't have the features of the ADVERTISED product...but it's "just as good".

If I had a Loonie for every time I've heard that story from a Canadian storeclerk, I'd have enough for another telescope.

At least at Khan scope center there is someone who will talk to you.

Yes, they said it's in the aisle. I said it's not, they would not come over. The one at the desk with the computer was willing to type in the number to check that it was in stock, and another person at a terminal even called someone else in the store who confirmed they had it but they would not find it.

I looked up and down and did have someone with me so there is 0% chance both of us missed it. In fact we looked all over the store first before asking.

Efston never has anything in stock, their prices are also overpriced. I bought my CGEM there when it was 300$ off and it took them forever just to confirm they could give it to me at the sale price. Considering it's such a big ticket item and was a sizable manufacturers sale you'd think they would have advertised this, but no.

wow....I'd have been demanding that tard on the PC to get off his ass and go look.Failing that...demand to see manager(or whoever is in charge of that sorry ass store).Failing that..report their ass to the BBB or equivalent in Canada.Or THREATEN to..might have got a better deal than the one offered.

There is a wide held belief that Canada is the most polite country in the world. It doesn't sound like it from your on-the-scene report.
