    Default Montes Jura

I took a moment to look at the moon and take some pictures. I will admit that I post this one perhaps more from nostalgia than anything. This kind of view of the Montes Jura was what really introduced me to the idea of observing features on the moon. YOu can see how most of the ridgeline of the range is lit up, but Sinus Irridium below is still shadowed.

Hi MrShorty. A very nice lunar image of Montes Jura, the ridgeline, and Crater Plato from you here. Thanks for sharing this excellent lunar capture with us MrShorty, and keep the great work coming.

    Nice image!

They call this the Golden Handle or Jeweled Scimitar, when the peaks are lit up but the bay is dark. The contrast of the white mountain peaks stands out especially well through binoculars.

I was out watching the same thing on 8/29/17 and took a very similar pictures.
