Default Buck Moon/Thunder Moon out tonight! :-)

    Hi all,

Well as i looked up the Full Moon dates tonight,
as i suspected, tonight was the Full Moon as i watched it rise in the sky.

Tonight the Moon is known as a Buck Moon or a Thunder Moon!

It rose over the Atlantic ocean around 8 pm and will set around 7:30 am.

It,s known as a these names as seasonal occurrences that happen in july.
Male deer, known as Bucks begin to sprout their antlers, consequently it,s known as a Buck Moon.
Thunder Moon gets its name from the summer thunderstorms that happen in july.
This Thunder Super Moon appears more than 12% larger as it rises and 26% brighter that a normal full Moon.
There,s a chance of some colouring of this Moon as she rises as the sun is setting at the same time and the Sun scattering light through the
Earth,s atmosphere can cause the Moon to appear pink, light purple or orange.

I got a few snaps of her heading south earlier with the 127 Powerseeker on the platform,
focus was slightly out on the snap of the camera and it was way past the time to catch any colouring.

    Here,s what i caught earlier.

    Cheers,

    Steve,...

Hi Steve. Well, these are terms for the moon that I haven't heard before. I have heard of the Harvester's Moon, the Blue Moon, the Hunter's Moon, and even the Super Moon. But, your fine images are a pleasure to view. You did quite a nice job with these captures. Thanks for sharing them with us, and keep up the good work.

Hi Steve, those are nice shots your got of the Moon. I thought about taking a few shots of the Moon too but, as it has been the rule the last few months, I only got clouds. Take some more to share with us, the ones without Moon.

    Cheers
