Well if the optical tube is nice and the glass held in right I would still say this must be among the best deals out there. Do you know of any bigger refractors that wont break the bank? I suppose if you could find one the mount required would drain your wallet anyways.

Thats the one. "6" astro telescope"
I think it's just the optics that are made at the same factory.
I was under the impression that Stellarve hand makes the OTA.
At least thats the assumption one would make after reading their website.
I could be wrong, and I may have read wrong.

Well I checked it out at the link you posted. It looks nice, would handle my 4" nicely.
What's up with those 6" refractors they got?
Seems cheep for a 6" cannon. I have read the threads where some compare them to Stellarvue scopes. Can that be true? I have the SV 102ED, and if that 6" is built anything like it all I can say is "scope of the year award"

    Does the purchasing ever stop?

Can the cg5 handle that 6"?....LOL

I just figured out how this works. I'am not too computer savy.
No, thanks to the wife, I'am forced into watching The Curious Case of Some Old Fart that Grows Younger.

Really I'am just sitting here, playing on the internet, while she watches.

Hey Rich! I checked with GAF who makes the Weather Watch Leak Barrier ice dam stuff. Their tech advisor said for what I'm doing, it would not be recommended as it has to be covered as with shingles or other material...not for exposure in other words. I appreciate the suggestion, my BIC.

    Blessings,

    Bob
