I thought you might have had something to do with that based on your link. No, I do not have astrophotog capability but that does not stop me from trying to do some shooting with my non SLR cameras. I think that it would be a great idea to start a group here. I, with the help of Gus (admin), started a Mid-West group but not much has happened on it.

Chris, I have been to the Fox Observatory and had a little original hand in helping it get constructed.
How would you feel about starting a new group on here for just Michigan Amateur Astronomers?
Do you have astrophotog capability with your 10" Dob?

Hey Stardog! I have an Orion 10" Dobsonian. I have a field behind me as well, but an obnoxious mercury vapor light a few doors down from me. I live in Swartz Creek (Flint area) and my skies are pretty decent. Do you ever go to the Fox Observatory near Charlotte? It is nice to hear from another Michigander.

This is Rod the StarDog in Lansing. What size scope are you operating?
I have an old 13" Coulter Optical Odyssey Dobsonian. I don't have a camera either and there are many times I wish I had an old 35 mm. I have a pretty dark sky for being in the city, because I have a field behind me and only one streetlight nearby that is blocked by houses and trees.
Just thought I'd contact you as you were the only Michigander I saw on here.
