James, Not sure how much further you got with your scope since your last post but thought to chime in on something I found out tonight. I have the exact same scope which I received a little over a month ago but mine came with outdated autostar firmwear so had to wait for the cable, do the update and then clear skies to get to try it out. In the mean time I upgraded to a Telrad finder and took off the red dot finder since to me it is a poorly made device - to flimsy so the dot could be anywhere. But when I went out tonight and tried my auto align the option was missing. Only the Easy, 2 star and 1 star alignments were available. I found in another forum that the LNT is in the red dot finder so I had to put it back on. After I did I had the auto option.

So if you are still wanting the auto feature take a look at your red dot finder. Does it work? do you use it? In the other post one suggestion was to just disconnect it and put it back in because maybe the jack was off or something...

    anyway thought to mention it...

I have the lx90 without lnt (living in Oz pretty much negates the viability)
I go through this routine in a minute or two
    1 Level tripod
    2 mount ota
    3 connect up peripherals
4 level scope and point to mag north
    5 switch on
    6 click align
    7 click mag north
    8 hit enter
9 wait until it goes to first star then nudge into place (usually only a small part of a degree
10 second star is always alt aligned and only need to nudge left or right.
    11 DONE

Total time is less than 5 mins from setting out tripod

My LX90 just rotates endlessly it pans up then rotates and doesn’t stop. Any ideas what this could be? It’s interesting hearing yours is done so fast.
