    Default ETX-90 EC hard stops

    I have a newbie question.
If the telescope tries to move past the hard stops (I set the home
position wrong) does this cause it any damage, e.g. to the
    drive/motors ?

    Thanks
    Mike

    Mike-
Depending on the age of your ETX, it may (like in the older ones) have
plastic gears. In that case, there were reports of the teeth being worn
down if the 'scope was allowed to grind away too long on the stop.
