Default Looking to buy a new LX65 any feedback on these?

    Hello all.
Back to the hobby after 11 years and looking at the new Meade LX65 6"or 8" version.
Have not seen any reviews or feedback on these yet anyone have this new scope that can give my some insight before I spend the cash.
    Thanks.

Took the plunge into the unknown today and bought the new Meade LX65 6" SCT.
The 8" ones are back order for up to 2 months so I figured I'd pick up the only LX65 series scope I could find in stock from a dealer up here in Canada.
Can always upgrade to 8" OTA later if I decide I need bigger but I think I will be happy with the 6" and a 80mm wide refractor attached to the other side.
    Hope it isn't a dud.

It looks a lot like a good revamp of the LS 8 mount. I liked that setup but since the telescope was bolted to the mount I grew to hate it because it was fixed to one scope. This is a game changer. The software on the LS8 was buggy but I think it was a lot to do with the gps and auto star alignment, usually when my scope would fail. This would be great for two scope observing.

Did this have a happy ending??? I have been considering an LX65 for a few months but it is very hard to get any user feedback.

Some quick feedback on the LX65.
The mount I received came with marks and scuffs, scraps from the factory.
The rest of the package including the OTA,tripod etc where in good condition.
I sent photos of the mount to my dealer and it took 2 weeks to get to Meade to send a RMA return so I could return the mount for replacement.
Meade sent a new mount out to me which I received last week but the edges where the plastic parts mate together have what I describe as burrs or sharp edges from the plastic molds plus the battery door is so misaligned it does not fit properly.
So to wrap this up my dealer is getting another RMA return from Meade but this time everything is going back and my dealer will be giving me complete refund.
Sorry Meade your quality control at least on this new mount is very poor.
In the end I never did get a chance to actually the scope.

I already have a new Celestron scope ordered.

Wow! Thats a shame ... but I guess its built to the price. Did you notice how stable the mount arm was? Was it all plastic ? I can't see one in the flesh in Brisbane but my concern was that the entire arm was ABS plastic. I was hoping that the blue part was aluminium.
At just under $2300AUD for an 8" ACF it was attractive but if the mount is going to fall apart its pointless. I wonder what the optics would have been like. Maybe they skimped with the quality there as well.
Anyway that aside I guess my decision is made.
    Thanks for the update.
