    Default help with LX200 classic

I have a lx200 that i have not used for for about 2-3 years.

I got it out replaced the battery and set all the site info. I have it mounted and the wedge and if i set it up say to sirius i can find objects in that part of the sky. If i say go to saturn or a Regulus it is off, if i sink to Regulus then it can find stuff in that part of the sky.

i take it that they know what 09 for the year is.

    any help would be great.

    thanks

Hi wetz , welcome aboard . Have you done a system reset with the scope ? Its weird that the scope knows two different areas but not toghether . If i am not mistaken , the scope should know 09 for the date . The wedge is set at the right degrees for your location ?

I will try that. I did not know it had one. The scope is mounted in an observatory and i check the Alignment with the north star and that was good.

I am in the EST so the time off set should be 4 correct.

    thanks for the help.

Can it be a timezone offset issue ? That shows when the second alignment star only needs adaption in RA. Also when you center on a known star and then keep enter pressed for a few seconds it'll beep and use that as new alignment star. From that moment on all GOTO's should be OK. If they are not you have other issues (maybe lat/long set wrong ? or alt/az vs. eq mode, or north or south hemisphere wrong)
