    Default Astrophotography

I intend to buy an 10" LX200 for Christmas... Now the Question!!!
I do not have the funds for a high-end CCD/CMOS camera but I do have a
Minolta MVS-DC500 digital camera with shutter speed of 8sec to 1/2000
sec. Given these figures can anyone tell me if I should be able to do
deep-sky photography or will I be limited to Solar system. BTW: my
expertise is image acquisition and enhancement (Retired scientific
    programmer analyst)

    Thank you for any help

    Daniel

Pretty much limited to solar system (Saturn and inwards).

Now, a modified Vesta Pro (SC) will get you some really nice first
    timer images in deep-sky photography.
