Default Re: CEM60 PEC & Guiding

My experiences with PEC has been similar, even with the CGX-L. Guiding is much better without it using PHD. So I don't bother with it anymore.

    Dear Gerrit,

I'm also a CEM60 owner. Though I've not tried PE curve recording yet, it seems that there is something missed in the manual. As PE is an intrinsic characteristic of worm-gear, it should not be mixed with corrections from PHD2 guiding. According to Craig Stark's information, the guiding should be disabled during PE recording. So, the procedure is as follows.
    1) Execute PHD2 and do calibration with a star (whose declination is nearly "0" degree is recommended)
    2) Stop guiding and open 'Advanced setup' window
    3) In the guiding tab, uncheck "Enable mount guide output" in Shared Parameters category.
By doing this, PHD2 will not issue guide pulse(correction data) and chase a guide star but keep data logging enabled.
The logged data will be the PE what you want.
    4) Start guiding
    5) The following procedure will be the same with the iOptron manual.
