Default MiniTower GPS - Issue or a Non-Issue?

Tha past few times I've taken out my MiniTower, I notice the GotoNOVA hand controller reads "GPS ON" without changing to "GPS OK" like it's supposed to. The mount seems to find and track without any problem but I'm wondering if this is something I should be concerned about.

Each time I was in the same spot in my back yard. Could it be that the GPS can't get a lock in that location?

Sounds like the GPS is not acquiring a signal in that location. Try moving it to a different spot, it should link up within 3-4 minutes and give you the 'Gps Ok' signal.

It won't affect tracking too much, since the lat and long numbers will still be stored in memory, but the time might be off, and that will affect your go-to's by several degrees.

If it wont connect, take the side cover off and check the smallest connector on the board (it goes to the GPS module) to make sure it hasn't worked loose.

    Good luck and clear skies..

Paul has it -- the small connector can come off and the GPS will not lock on.

    Clear skies.
