After building portable panels to make up my summer obs last year & thinking I'd use my hunting ground blind for these past few months to house my XT6, it just came to me recently that what I should have done all along was use one of those portable insta shades that you can set up without using the canopy. I just take my tarps & clamp them on however I need them & wha laaa, I'm ready to go. I aquired a great deal from Cabela's back in Jan, thinking I'd be using it for something else, which I will, so this is the best of both worlds ....
It does require two people to set up, at least for your first time while your neighbors are watching & wondering what you're up to now.....lol

Cool. And nice wheely for the scope too.
Just invite the neighbors over for a look and soon you'll being obs popping up all down the block.![]()

Not a thing wrong with that set up...for a couple of reasons I "think ya did good"....not expensive, dual purpose, and the darn thing just plain works... ! All is well !
I will warn you however that you may at one point start thinking of building a regular observatory which will not be able to be used for more then one thing, ain't gonna be quite as cheap bit will still work.. LOL
Good solution...
