    Default DAA Observatory Campus

    Greetings All,
This is my first post in this forum. I usually post frequently in the Astrophotography Forum (images, comments, suggestions, etc.). I recently completed my observatory on our small association's three observatory campus (Desert Astronomy Association - DAA) . I commented about it on a recent image post in that forum. Some have asked for more detail (possibly images) of my observatory project. Seems like this is the right venue to do that.

My observatory was partially constructed by myself (concrete piers and slab) and by Scott Horstman (of Backyard Observatories). I was pretty pleased with how it has turned out (so far). I went for pretty basic functionality - I may remote automate it some time in the future, but for now it is an 'attended use' set up.

I put together a sequence of images showing the building progress and posted it on my website. It is under my 'Equipment' section but I have a direct link to the observatory images page below.

Very ice, Jim! One of these days I hope to settle into the southwest and do similar, so I'm taking notes.

    Thanks guys.

This project has been quite a journey, but its been a load of fun doing it. Now if the clouds would just go away, I could have an inaugural session.
