Wanted to share some images taken with K-X. Also if anyone is interested, I wrote intervalometer for Palm which triggers shutter over IR link.

Unfortunately the famous Dark Frame Subtraction "feature" forced me to switch to Canon DSLR to allow me to do more advanced AP.
Another issues with K-X is that I am not aware of any way of removing red filter to allow better imaging of Ha objects.
So I would say that if you already have K-X, then you can definitely do some imaging with it, but if you don't have and plan to buy it for AP, then it is not a great idea because most likely that you will have to get a Canon down the road
