Dont have anything yet but i have it narrowed down to 5(yes that is still alot but..) so if you would give me your input they are, Orion ShortTube 80 Equatorial Refractor Telescope, Orion StarBlast 6 Astro ReflectorTelescope, Orion SkyQuest XT6 Classic Dobsonian Telescope, Orion SpaceProbe 130ST EQ Reflector Telescop, and the Orion StarMax 90mm Equatorial Mak-Cass Telescope. I want a scope that is pretty good with most everything in the sky and has a good sturdy mount. So if you could give me your input or suggest other scopes please tell me. Thanks

Hi Neb welcome to the site, I would go for the EQ just because its on an EQ mount and its a good aperature. Let us know what you are interested in seeing and your budget.

I vote for the XT6 classic. Any equitorial scope you get at that price point tends to be a bit unstable on the mount which causes the scope to shake which can be a problem. On the dobsonian the scope is VERY stable and easy to use. Another thing about an EQ mount is when you observe in the south you eyepiece points to the ground and you have to spin the scope in it's rings or sit on the ground looking up. The only reason I use a EQ mount on any of my scopes is for imaging only.

I've had my XT8 for 2 weeks now and im loving it, amazing for a first scope. If this scope is anything to go by the XT6 can't be far behind. Im guessing you purchased one by now, I hope you are happy with the choice you made.
