Hi there. I'm currently using an Orion SpaceProbe 130 EQ. I live in Malaysia. Down here a clear sky is very rare unless you go offshore to some really tiny islands. But to get there you need to fly. So I was wondering what would be the safest way to transport my telescope by air

The only way I would feel "safe" transporting a telescope by air would be to obtain one
small enough to put into a small hard case carryon. Takahashi and a few others make such quality optics
that thier small portable scopes behave like those with larger aperatures.
