This sounds like it could be a great course: How Great Science Fiction Works on science fiction! May consider it when I get a few other projects out of the way. Science fiction is one of the topics that got me on the road to astronomy!

Hi Dave. I too was very impressed by the science fiction movies of my time (1950's and 1960's). But, the show that really "pulled me in" was the TV show "Science Fiction Theatre", with Truman Bradley. I have been interested in math, and several branches of the sciences ever since. Thanks for finding and posting this interesting link Dave, and I hope that many of the kids today will take this as a challenge to learn even more about the real world around us.

I too recall Science Fiction Theatre! I recall my very early Science Fiction books, Tom Swift, Jr. Read the entire series. As a matter of fact I still have most of the books!!!

Hi again Dave. Well, it is rare that I can find someone that goes back as far as I do, and also has the same interests. I well remember the Science Fiction greats, such as Isaac Asimov, Robert A. Heinlein, Frederik Pohl, Arthur C. Clarke, Ray Bradbury, among many others. Some of my favorite books were: Foundation Trilogy by Isaac Asimov, The Man Who Fell to Earth by Walter Trevis, The Gods Hate Kansas by Joseph Millard, The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury, and The Cat Who Walks Though Walls by Robert A. Heinlein. You probably have most, if not all of these great publications And let's not forget the superb Analog Magazine. And it just amazes me that how many of the themes from the Science Fiction Theatre are now a reality today. Thanks for your great input on here Dave. and the best of regards.

Hello Marshall! Yes Heinlein was a favorite as I got older. Stranger in a Strange Land was also one I read many times. Assignment in Space with R.I.P. Foster was an early childhood favorite as well as the Tom Swift series.
