Opportunities in Ohio to Enjoy the Nightsky

Anyone like to get out, meet other observers, swap stories or look through a telescope or two? Ohio has tons of opportunities for those that love the nightsky.

One place I go to find out about such opportunities is DiscoverOhio.com . Just type in a search term like: astronomy or observatory or telescope. . . you'll get info on places like:

Warren Rupp Observatory (where you'll find me most often) in Bellville for their FREE monthly public night.
How to purchase tickets to Perkins Observatory in Delaware for their Friday night programs
Observatory Park's planetarium at the Geauga Park District
Tours of the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland

I'm sure you can find more on this site too, just take time to look around and find something your interested in.

What else is out available that you enjoy going to or taking part in here in Ohio??

Here is an opportunity I may be going to for an evening of stargazing.

    Summer Night Sky
    Thursday, June 27, 9:45pm
At the Brown Family Environmental Center, 9781 Laymon Road, Gambier, Ohio 43022

Bring a blanket or chair to admire the summer night sky with Kenyon Professor Tim Shutt.
Learn about constellations and listen to mythological stories about the stars.

Don't have anything else going on? Now you do. . .

I'll be at the upcoming Warren Rupp Observatory Public Night, July 6, 2013...

Warmer weather and longer days are here! Now it's time to celebrate by enjoying the night!

Please join us at Warren Rupp Observatory on Saturday, July 6 for our monthly Public Night.

We'll begin with our general meeting at 7:00 p.m. and you are welcome to join us. At approximately 8:00 p.m., we'll have a program by one of our NASA NightSky Network representatives and hopefully enjoy a clear summer night!

Our programs are suitable for all ages and there is no charge to enjoy the evening with us. Feel free to bring the whole family and have some fun!

    Hope to see you there
