I owned an Astroscan back in 1980, just in time for the total eclipse of the Sun as it passed over southern Washington, near Goldendale. It provided a wide enough view that I was able to photograph it (using an old Pentax 35mm camera mounted via a T-ring and an extension tube). It provided a sharp image and my only regret is that I forgot to bracket my exposures so I would get a good shot of the Sun's corona. All the same, I got a few good photos of the Baily's Beads (where the Sun slipped through the mountain peaks during totality.) I will try to find a couple of shots and post them here as well as a photo of my Micky-Mouse setup using an equatorial telescope mount.
