Still proud to be in the ranks of the rank beginners, I haven't gotten around to building a filter collection yet. After darn near going blind the last time I looked at the moon through my 8" Lightbridge, I decided to try a decidedly low-tech approach.
Here's an aperture mask that I whomped up with a cardboard box and a roll of tape. The 3" aperture reduces the 8" Lightbridge from f/6 to f/16. Much easier on the eyes, and with the crummy seeing I generally have from the back yard, any loss in resolving power is hardly noticable.
