Super cheap binocular stabilizer...

    This is an old trick I learned in photo school. When shooting with a long lens and a tripod is not available, just cut a length of stout string and loop one end around the lens and step on the other end and raise up slightly to make the string taunt. This works on binoculars too. I just leave the string permanently attached to them. You still get some side to side wiggle, but a big improvement over nothing at all and did I mention....CHEAP.
