Realized I had a couple photos in my Transit of Venus album that sort of show my backyard viewing site. I only setup on the bball court when I want to look North or need to be on stable ground, because it makes me look more suspicious to my neighbors and is farther from the house. I usually setup on my deck which is more private, and is raised above the ground so makes everything from due East to South to due West available.

The first photo is facing SE and shows my bball court. (I also recently used this same pic to show my pets in another revived Admin started thread!). The second pic is facing due West. The view facing East is similar to the West photo, except my other neighbors backyard; no major obstructions. And due North is my house, city lightdome, and neighborhood. So usually I wait for Northern sky objects to rise higher in the sky so they're not in the light dome or blocked by my house.

The pictures were originally for the tent not the view but the view is good as you can probably tell and the skies are fairly dark. Right now the view is "Smoke" as the west seems to be on fire.
Bill is that a modified tent or did you buy it that way. I sure could see that in my backyard.

Thanks! We found it, almost by accident, earlier this year. Fell in love with it, and like it more everyday we live here. Sometimes Fate is kind. The dark skies are awful nice, too.
