I wanted to visit when younger, but never got the opportunity. My grandparents (George and Anna) were from Czechoslovakia. My grandfather arrived in the late 1890's and sent for my grandmother. Raised a family on a farm in western Pennsylvania. The rest is history!!

    I missed my chance.....

I was on a teaching gig in Salzburg Austria and while colleagues ran off to play in Venice, Vienna, Bratislava, and Prague I sat in my study grinding away. I tell you true, I am no fun!

I like mountains so I missed out on the Tatras.

You could have taken the train to Vienna (or Bratislava) and a riverboat to Bratislava on the Danube, from there spent the day touring the castle, old town, and museums.
