Definitely...a naked eye comet would be a nice early Christmas present.

Definitely am! Hopefully the skies will cooperate; at least the Moon will pretty much be out of the way for the first half of December which is perfect for me. And when ol' Luna returns, there a nice conjunction between it and Mars on the 14th. But 46P is top of my list!

After this year and even last years lousy skies, we all deserve a break in the weather to see this! Here's hoping...

I am looking forward to missing it!

I've already got a space carved out on my list of missed eclipses, conjunctions, transits, occultations, meteor showers, and comets.

I hope you get to see it Bryan, the good thing is we have a window of a few weeks, already visible low in the sky... One of my biggest misses was the Mercury transit a couple of years ago. I had all my gear set up but the clouds wouldn't let up. Ended up watching a live stream of the event.
