Default Best Night Sky Events of October 2018

Here is the latest report from Chris Vaughan of SkySafari Software, at Space.com. It provides information on several interesting observing opportunities throughout the month of October with 25 pages of interesting pictures, maps, and information for this month. Last quarter moons are positioned ahead of the Earth in our trip around the sun. About 3½ hours later, Earth will occupy that same location in space. After this phase, the waning moon traverses the last quarter of its orbit around the earth, on the way to new moon on Monday October 8th. (Great for you DSO visual and astrophotography fans). Also are charts for the annual Draconids Meteor Shower on October 8th. This shower is generated by debris dropped by Comet 21P/Giacobini-Zinner.

I hope this helps in your observing plans and that it is useful to you. Thanks for looking, and the best of wishes for many clear night skies.
