Default What Cell Phone For SkySafari?

What is the least expensive cell phone for using SkySafari? Please give complete name, brand, model / number, and manufacturer of the phone I should get.

What version of SkySafari is easiest to use? Perhaps there exist a better app than SkySafari. Just want to locate/identify objects, nothing special or technical. Thank you very much.

Why a Cell? I used to use it on my Note3, but I find a tablet is much more gooder.

Any iPhone 4 or newer and any Android phone with version 5 or newer. It's up to you to do the shopping. SkySafari is the best commercial app for astro in my opinion and you can't go wrong with $.99 cent version.

I second Don Alvaraz's post, it's for sure "gooder"

You're going to have better results using a note pad or iPad. The screen is too small unless you use a HUGE cell phone.

If it's a budgetary restraint, then that's understood...

which iPad or notepad? I need a make and model, so I don't buy one that is not useful. What iPad/Notepad/cell do you use?

iPads can be a pain IF your in a cold environment, the screen gets lazy then un-readable. I use Sky Safari on a Samsung cell phone especially when its cold (<-10C), easy to put in a warm pocket when not needed. Sure the screen is small, but once you catch on to how to get around the program it works as well as a large monitor.

I have Sky Safari 5 on a Galaxy S8, Sky Safari 6 ($3.99 Canadian) on a Apple iPad, and Stellarium and Cartes du Ciel on a Windows 10 laptop. Each has their place on the with the "War on Space"! I do like the improvements that SS6 offers over SS5, but there are a couple steps backwards too IMO.

"I" get lazy and un-readable when it's that cold out. Just don't handle the cold like I did in my younger days.

I want a minimum of 25 degrees F and that's going to be a brief session.

If I'm doing something rigorous outside, I'm fine with it much colder, but not sitting at a scope.

I use a Fire HD 8. I did have to side load the Play Store app in order to get Sky Safari, but its not hard, and they seem to go on sale over at Amazon pretty regularly. You can pick one up for 40 or 50 bucks when they are.
