Default International Observe the Moon Night (InOMN)

David57 reminded me of this upcoming event scheduled for October 28, 2017. International Observe the Moon Night (InOMN) is sponsored by NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter with support from NASA's Solar System Exploration Research Virtual Institute (SSERVI) and the Lunar and Planetary Institute.

"International Observe the Moon Night (InOMN) is an annual worldwide public event that encourages observation, appreciation, and understanding of our Moon and its connection to NASA planetary science and exploration, as well as the cultural and personal connections we all have with Earth's nearest neighbor. Everyone on Earth is invited to join the celebration by hosting or attending an InOMN event — and uniting on one day each year to look at and learn about the Moon together."

Additional details can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intern...the_Moon_Night and current worldwide locations found here: https://www.lpi.usra.edu/observe_the_moon_night/

    Here's a link to NASA's "Earth's Moon" website: https://moon.nasa.gov/home.cfm.

Lots to explore here including "Points of Interest" and InOMN2017"!

My son is hosting an early Halloween event at his home on 28 October. In honor of InOMN, I plan to "crash" his party with my 5 inch Unitron on the G-11 mount and give the attendees a grand view of the Moon!
