Default The darkest skies in the world?

Hello everyone from Pakistan.I have a general question. Which location would have the darkest skies, hands down.
Something like Bottle 1+. Is there such a site on earth which is the definition of perfect for astronomy. Like a NELM better than 7.6, excellent seeing and transparency throughout the year ( 310+ days ). If I had a guess, I'd choose the atacama desert in Chile. But is there a location better than that. Mount Everest maybe? Could anyone answer this question? For now this is just general curiosity, but maybe someday I'll visit this dream site.

Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks and as always, clear skies to all.
    From Pakistan.

I think you might be surprised at how much of the world is void of man made light. Problem is, it's mostly so remote, the cost and dangers involved put it out of reach.

    This might help though

Without looking at Dark Sky Map, I thought I recall someone commenting that it might be in central Africa. Not sure though.

I stand to be corrected but I believe it's the Atacama desert in Chile that holds the title of darkest and clearest night skies in the world?
If it were here in Africa I might consider moving, although the central African jungle can be a tough place to settle! I may remain in the urban jungle instead!

I have read a few times that the views when mid ocean are spectacular. Great for general observing, but not so good for a polar alignment!

Yes, I also heard that when in the middle of the pacific ocean, you have the least LP on Earth.Because I think there's a location in inside the pacific ocean which is more than 1000 kms. Away from any other land.don't know how would it fare for the transparency and seeing? Will ocean sites have good transparency and seeing, anyone ?!?.

Sometimes here at the coast the marine layer can affect my seeing and transparency very badly.
I am not sure how that would be out to sea, we would need the sailors on the forum to step forward with their views.

Aidan I suspect the "drift" alignment method would work better than a polar align out to sea!
