Default What scope rig are you using tonight?

Just curious what weapon of choice everyone is using tonight. I'll be gazing at Saturn, the Moon (what choice do I really have tonight yes?;-), and a few doubles in Cygnus with my 60's Larry Hardin handmade f4.6 Newt on the trusty 80's Vixen Polaris EQ mount. I was finally able to find some original legs for it. Looks like it should now. For eyepieces it's a USA made Brandon/VernonScope 32mm - TV 18mm Radian and an 8MM TV Radian for eyepieces tonight along with an 80's Meade variable polarizer Lets see your rig!

Hi Chris! I just got done with about an hour of observing time.

I went with my AR127 and AR102 on my Twilight II mount. Snapped this pic of the rig at twilight. Twilight in the twilight.

Since I've just had a total shoulder rebuild on Wednesday of last week, I'm limited to small instruments only. I started viewing in my driveway around 9:00 with my ST90 on the SLT. I bagged Jupiter, Saturn, M2-22, 27, 80-82, and 92. That was done with the ES 8.8mm 82 which I 3xBarlowed on the planets and used the Moon&SkyGlow+FringeKiller filter combo. Packed it in about 10:45 as the ol' Evil Orb started to show.

Tonight I plan to dust off my DSLR (Cannon 1000D) and my 4SE with a 0.63 focal reducer as part of my project to see what can be done photographing the brighter DSOs with the rig. The objective for tonight is to simply check out the kit to make sure all is working as it should as well as give me some refresher training. It's been a long time since I had my DSLR out at night. I'll have my C6S on a SkyWatcher az goto mount standing by to do a visual tour of Sagittarius and Scorpius.

Nothing as it was cloudy, and has been for a bit now. But if I get a break, then the only scope I have with me on the trip is the ES ED80, so that simplifies things for me. It is supported by a UA Dwarf Star on a Slik Pro-700DX photo tripod. A lightweight and portable rig for travel.

None! Heavy cloud here for the day and night. It has been good lately though, can't complain, we need the rain.
