Default Shenandoah Big Meadow Star Gazing

    Hi All,

Reaching out to forum members who have been to the Big Meadow in the Shenandoah National Park. Wanted to see if it's as good as the websites are advertising about dark skies. Also is there any area where one could set up a scope and/or do people do so?

Might plan a trip there coinciding with a lacrosse camp my son is going to this summer in Arlington, Va.

    Thanks! Clear Skies!

Hello Brad! Haven't ever observed there, but I'm a member of Northern Virginia Astronomy Club (NOVAC) and this is the info from the NOVAC website: https://www.novac.com/wp/members/sit...ows-club-info/. Hope this helps some.

Thanks Dave, this is exactly what I was looking for as the Big Meadow and national park sites don't speak about the viewing area and I was wondering where it might be best to view.

    Thanks!
