Default Trip to Lowell Observatory, AZ

Getting pretty excited. I have a family trip planned to AZ later this month. Be going to Flagstaff. One of my destinations on the map, besides the Grand Canyon; Lowell Observatory. Cant' wait! They have some pretty cool stuff to check out there. Can't wait to see the heavens through some of their scopes. I fully expect to be blown away. Just pray for good weather.

I went there a few years ago and had a great time. It's well worth the trip!

I agree - visited in 2012 or so and had a wonderful evening. Make sure you check their schedule to make sure you show up on a night they have something going on! They had a couple of Dobs set up on the sidewalks to check out Jupiter and Mars, and the 24" was engaged in splitting Sirius A and B, which it could just do in moments of good seeing. Also a couple of good lectures and presentations inside the building as well (it was a cold night, two days after a big snow storm near the end of March!

BTW the Grand Canyon is well worth the visit as well...
