    Is anyone here been awaiting Venus
    It been long while that I seen Venus in the sky

    It's pretty low on the west horizon. It's all but fully set when it gets dark here.

    Take a look about 30 minutes after sunset 10 deg above the western horizon.
    You should see it!

    I usually notice it because it be the brightest thing besides
    The moon. It be great if Venus was near to moon.

    Sadly when the Sunsets where I am I need at least 2 hours after the sun sets to see Venus 2 more months will have have Daylight savings time and it will get dark at 6PM EST so I might hopefully see Venus.

    Here were headed for autumn. Perfect for star gazing, hope Venus be able seen in the autumn.

    Use an app like Stellarium to plan out when Venus will be best available for your location. It is in the west right at sundown and for about a half hour after. Very low on the west horizon though. Don't blink, you might miss it.

    Definitely looking forward to watching Venus throughout this evening apparition. As noted, right now it is kind of low in the Western sky at sunset, setting shortly after the sun and long before darkness truly sets.

    Venus's "quarter" phase is about January, after which it will continue waning into a nice crescent.

    I like naked eye planets (The Position of Venus in the Night Sky: 2016-2017 Evening Apparition ) to see what to expect for observing the planets. For most planets, they have a page (like the link) that will describe observations through the current apparition, including a list of conjunctions with other planets and the moon, and other interesting things.

    pictures are almost always taken afocally using my XT6 with a 25 mm eyepiece, 0.5x focal reducer, and a Fuji point and shoot camera.
