Default Anybody interested in a desert Halloween? Maybe Calico or Joshua Tree?

I'm just throwing this out there to see if there's any interest in a fall desert trip. I know the spring Calico trip got washed out in a big way...but I can't help that. Lolabruce and Magoo1 made it for the trip. Lonnie traveled 2,700 miles to get rained on. Anyway, if you're interested let me know and we can go from there.

It gets pretty crazy at Calico for Halloween, or so I've been told. Joshua Tree may be the best hope.

Have any of you checked out the group camping at Mojave?--That may be an alternative. I've never stayed there so I can't speak to its suitability--it's across the road from another campground and the visitor center.

Okay, it looks like this could turn into something. Calico is booked up and that's okay. Joshua Tree I'd looking like it might be the spot. I was looking at the "Belle" campground as a likely spot. Going to "Clear Dark Sky" with the satellite view, we could get a couple of 40' motor homes in there nicely. Lola Bruce and I are kicking this one around. Any other thoughts or comments are appreciated. Let me know if your interested. I'm thinking I'm going to get there on Thursday the 26th and leave Sunday the 30th.

This year I may be able to make the drive down to Joshua Tree. Good hiking in the daytime and hopefully great skies at night. Would be really fun to synch up with folks on the Forum in the "real" and non-digital sense. I'd be a tent camper so I hope that's OK.

I'm just giving this a bump just in case you missed it. I'm planning to be out in Joshua Tree in the Belle Campground. If that campground is full look for me in Jumbo Rocks Campground all the way in the back. Planning to drive out Thursday October 27 and leaving Sunday the 30th. I'll be in a 40' motor home with maroon and white on it. Send me a PM if you want my phone number. Hope to see some of y'all out there.
